Career

Stefani Shanberg is a long-term trusted advisor to global technology companies, representing them in intellectual property cases before the federal courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC).

A go-to advisor for many of the hottest technology companies, she has extensive experience in all areas of IP litigation and often obtains successful outcomes based on creative and novel issues of law. She has won cases at trial, on summary judgment, and on motions to dismiss; and prevailed on advantageous claim constructions, won motions to transfer and stay, and convinced courts of appeal to affirm favorable lower-court rulings.

Stefani has litigated cases throughout the nation including more than 100 cases in the Northern District of California alone. She is a member of the Northern District of California Patent Instructions and Rules Attorney Advisory Committee and is frequent and successful volunteer mediator for the Northern District of California Court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program.

Stefani has deep experience with investigations before the ITC. As the only West-coast based past-president of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, Stefani has a unique ability to craft winning strategies for technology companies facing ITC investigations and to understand their needs and priorities when litigating in this unique forum.
