Sophia von Dewall is a founding partner of Vanguard International Dispute Resolution, which she co-founded in 2025. She previously worked for top tier arbitration firms in Amsterdam, London, New York and Paris.

Sophia acts in both commercial and investor-state arbitrations under the ICC, ICSID, PCA, NAI, HKIAC, CEPANI and Swiss Rules. She has particular expertise handling disputes arising in the construction, engineering, energy and infrastructure sectors under international contracts, as well as disputes concerning joint-ventures, shareholder agreements and investment treaties. Sophia also regularly sits as arbitrator.

In addition to her international arbitration practice, Sophia represents her clients in arbitration-related legal proceedings before the Netherlands state courts.

Sophia obtained an LL.M in Public International & European Law (cum laude) and an LL.M in Dutch Law (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam.

Sophia is admitted to practice in Amsterdam and is registered at the Paris Bar. She speaks English, French and Dutch and is a Dutch national.
