Sławomir is a Partner and Head of the Finance & Financial Regulation practice in Bird & Bird’s Warsaw office.
He has over 20 years of experience in providing legal services to entities operating in the banking and finance services sector. He advises clients on projects involving regulatory matters, FinTech projects and payment services.
Sławomir has advised on multiple transactions involving financing, securities issues and derivatives. He supports clients on projects that are designed to launch new business lines and financial products. He advises large international institutions and start-ups on entering the Polish market to launch cross-border activity, establish branches of foreign entrepreneurs in Poland and open new business lines. He also cooperates with numerous FinTech companies helping them to introduce new products and solutions, such as social loan and crowdfunding platforms, e-banking, new payment methods for the e-commerce sector, providing online payment services or granting consumer loans via the Internet.
Sławomir was the team leader among Bird & Bird lawyers that supported the PolishAPI project (an access interface model for FinTech companies conforming to the Payment Services Directive (PSD2) standards) initiated by the Polish Bank Association (ZBP).
Sławomir has been recognised by the Polish Bank Association for his contribution to the development of Polish banking law and practice.
He is a frequent speaker at Polish and international conferences relating to the banking and financial sector and the author of numerous publications in this field.
