Simon Firth

Simon Firth is the leading authority on derivatives, specialising in the structuring and documentation of derivatives transactions and advising about issues arising in relation to derivatives and the financial markets generally.

Simon often advises market participants about issues arising in the credit derivatives market and conducted the independent review of the ISDA Credit Derivatives Determinations Committee.

Simon is also the author of Firth on Derivatives Law and Practice, the leading textbook on English derivatives law, frequently cited in the courts and has been followed in several important derivatives cases.

Simon also has extensive experience in advising about the interpretation of the ISDA Master Agreement and other standard form documentation and many of his opinions have been relied on by the market generally.

Simon is a member of the financial markets law committee and a Visiting Professor of the University of Law.
