Shylah Alfonso’s practice spans antitrust litigation, government investigations, and counseling; class-action and consumer protection litigation; merger clearance; and IP and FRAND disputes. She regularly leads large, cross-office, and cross-disciplinary teams on high-stakes matters involving novel legal and economic issues.
Shylah advises and represents multinational companies, including those entering or expanding into the U.S. market. Her experience spans matters before federal and state regulators and courts, including the FTC, the DOJ, state attorneys general, and private plaintiffs. She has represented clients across the supply chain—manufacturers, distributors, retailers, R&D companies, and patent portfolio holders—across a wide range of industries, including AI, telecommunications, social networking, big data, gaming, platform markets, semiconductors, software, agriscience, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, retail, aerospace, and the internet. She is particularly known for her work at the intersection of antitrust and IP for technology-driven businesses.
In addition to litigation and investigations, Shylah provides strategic, pragmatic counseling and training on the antitrust implications of pricing practices, vertical restraints, distribution arrangements, IP acquisition and licensing, joint ventures, trade association and standard-setting participation, and other commercial transactions. She has represented market-leading companies across the technology, retail, telecommunications, and manufacturing sectors, bringing a business-focused approach to managing risk while enabling growth and innovation.
