Shawn Smith

Shawn Smith is a partner in the Technology and Privacy & Data Protection Groups. Shawn’s practice focuses on information technology, privacy (including Canada's anti-spam legislation), e-commerce (including consumer protection) and emerging technologies (IoT, AI/smart contracts, blockchain, automation, etc.).

Shawn regularly advises clients on complex business process outsourcings, service arrangements, technology exploitation (including development, commercialization and licensing), transformational procurements (public and private) and domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures involving technology companies, businesses and assets.

Shawn has experience assisting with technology issues across a broad range of industries, including financial services, insurance, energy, mining, telecommunications, postal service, aviation, manufacturing, retail and healthcare.
