Geoff Holub is a partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on the areas of civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, with an emphasis on oil and gas, construction and manufacturer's liability. Geoff has acted for companies, shareholders, directors and officers in a wide variety of corporate and securities disputes, including directors’ and officers’ liability, oppression, dissent rights and corporate opportunity cases.
Geoff is involved in a wide range of commercial matters including contract drafting, negotiation and interpretation, corporate plans of arrangement, strategic advice and contractual risk analysis primarily in the energy generation, transmission and distribution industries.
He has appeared before the Provincial Court, the Court of King's Bench and the Court of Appeal in Alberta. Geoff represents and advises companies in international and domestic arbitrations conducted under a variety of rules, including the ADRIC, ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL Rules and regularly appeared before Panels of Commissioners at the United Nations Compensation Commission in Geneva, Switzerland. As well, he has been counsel on matters before the Yukon Supreme Court, including most recently on a contested proxy battle relating to control of a company incorporated in the Yukon Territory.
