Career

Seth Friedman is a partner at Lewis Brisbois and a highly experienced insurance coverage and bad faith litigator, with more than two decades of experience advising insurers on complex, high-exposure claims. He is recognized for his strategic approach to coverage disputes and his ability to navigate challenging matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Seth represents insurers in a wide range of coverage matters, including general liability, construction defect, first-party property, professional liability, employment practices, fidelity, and environmental and toxic tort claims. His practice also encompasses fraud investigations, examinations under oath, and arson-related claims, providing clients with comprehensive support throughout the lifecycle of a claim.

In addition to his litigation capabilities, Seth is frequently called upon to advise insurers on potential bad faith exposure before disputes escalate. He regularly counsels clients on responding to time-limited demands, developing proactive strategies to mitigate risk, and positioning claims for efficient resolution. When litigation proceeds, he has a strong track record of achieving favorable outcomes through dispositive motions, trial advocacy, and appeals.

Seth has argued cases before state and federal appellate courts, including the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, contributing to important developments in coverage and bad faith law.

He also serves in a leadership role within the firm as co-chair of its Insurance Coverage Practice and vice-chair of its Bad Faith Litigation Practice, and is an active contributor to the broader legal community through speaking engagements and publications on emerging insurance issues.
