For more than three decades, Mario Fontes has consistently achieved clients’ business objectives in a variety of cross-border transactions and other matters. Fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish, Mr. Fontes regularly advises companies in the United States, Latin America, Middle-East and Europe on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general corporate matters. For example, he guides clients through complex domestic and international transactions for the purposes of acquiring public and private companies as well as forming joint ventures and investment funds. Similarly, Mr. Fontes assists clients with general corporate matters, including corporate formations and reorganizations – particularly those involving subsidiaries of U.S. companies in Latin America and Latin American companies creating a foothold in the United States. He also handles deals involving private equity and venture capital investments by non-U.S. funds and investors in the technology industry, as well as represents pre-qualified bidders seeking to acquire government-owned entities in the telecommunication, energy, and natural resources industries.
