Sébastien is the regional practice group leader in financial services and specializes in project financing. He has been involved in numerous bank and project financings in Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia. Other areas of expertise include renewable energy and infrastructure projects. He acts for financial institutions, investment funds, development banks, sponsors and companies.
He has advised clients on a wide range of complex projects including recently the 230MW Niagara wind project (insured by the German export credit agency); a syndicate of lenders for the financing of four wind farms in Quebec, totaling 480 MW in aggregate; and currently the Government of Gabon for the financing of a hydroelectric project.
On the strength of his expertise, he is recognized by his peers and clients, and by in many publications; his track record in energy and project finance is very impressive over the last 20 years.
Sébastien served for on the Blakes Executive Committee for six years and is currently the Managing Partner of the Montreal Office.
Sébastien has also taught at McGill University on project financing and is frequently asked to participate as moderator or speaker at conferences on project financing.
