Scott Wyper

Scott leads the Corporate and Commercial practice at BTO and is the head of the firm’s Corporate team.

Scott is involved in advising a broad range of clients, across many sectors, on all aspects of corporate law. He provides clients in corporate transactional matters such as acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and financing. In addition, Scott provides advice on contractual matters such as consultancy agreements, collaboration agreements, investment agreements and management agreements.

He provides corporate advisory advice to clients on matters such as structuring corporate ventures, corporate governance and constitutional matters, shareholders’ agreements, directors’ duties and responsibilities and finance matters.

Scott is also heavily involved in corporate finance and restructuring, acting for institutional investors, funders, companies seeking investment and administrators.

Scott trained with BTO Solicitors LLP and has remained with the firm throughout his career, becoming a Partner in 2016 and Head of Corporate in 2021.

Scott is a keen golfer and a member of Irvine Golf Club (Bogside). In the winter months Scott spends time on the slopes snowboarding.

-Acting for a joint venture partner in the demerger of the joint venture company which is involved in the solar energy market.

-Acting for Scottish Hydro Investment Limited in the acquisition of Hydro Energy Trading Limited and Green Energy Trading Limited from Guinness Asset Management.

-Acting for a company in the established on an Employee Ownership Trust and the sale of the majority of the shares in the company to the Trust.

-Acting for the shareholders of Scott Group Investments Limited in the sale of the group to BSW Timber Limited, part of the Binderholz Group.

-Acting for the shareholders of Re-Tek (UK) Limited in the sale of the company to Waterland.
