Sarah Willis specialises in OTC and exchange-traded derivatives and structured products, with a particular focus on futures and cleared derivatives and financial market infrastructure.
Sarah advises a wide range of market participants (including CCPs and other financial market infrastructure (FMI), clearing members, clients and industry associations), on the establishment and development of FMI, the rules of CCPs and FMIs, clearing documentation and applicable regulation.
Sarah plays a lead role in advising OTCD (OTC DerivNet Ltd., a consortium comprising 13 of the largest swaps dealers globally) and its members on the derivatives clearing and derivatives collateralisation issues arising from their membership of SwapClear and SwapAgent. This includes advising on strategic product development at SwapClear and SwapAgent.
Sarah also played a lead role on the design and delivery of the European Agent-Trustee Model (see credentials), and the cleared derivatives aspects of Nasdaq’s sale of its commodities derivatives clearing business to Euronext.
Since her recognition in Chambers for the first time last year, Sarah’s market profile has increased significantly and she is regarded by many Linklaters clients as their first port of call for technical questions on cleared derivatives, derivatives margining and Nasdaq financial markets infrastructures.
