Samuel Véliz

“Samuel advises clients on commercial, corporate and contract law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), banking and finance, capital markets, corporate governance, private wealth planning and arbitration. He has extensive experience in complex corporate transactions, shareholder and management disputes, and the preparation of expert legal opinions and reports.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Associate at Payet, Rey, Cauvi, Pérez Abogados. He has also gained international experience as a visiting foreign associate at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo (Madrid, 2024) and as a legal intern at Uría Menéndez (Madrid, 2017).

He graduated with honours in Law from Universidad Católica de Santa María in Arequipa and holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from Universidad de Navarra (Spain). He also holds a Diploma in Professional Services Firm Management from Universidad de Navarra and IESE Business School (Spain).

In academia, he lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Law of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and is a full member of the Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho y Finanzas. He has authored several articles published in leading Peruvian legal journals and has also taught at the Faculty of Law of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola.

Since 2022, he has been included on the panel of arbitrators of the Arbitration Centre of the Arequipa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.”
