Career

Salman Al-Ansari is the founding partner of the Firm. He advises clients on all facets of their operations in the Middle East, including corporate formation, corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, finance and securities, intellectual property, construction, and dispute resolution. Salman experience encompasses representing clients in complex commercial litigation and before arbitration before Qatar Courts and various arbitration tribunals. Salman represented clients in multi-billion dollars litigations and arbitrations in various sectors. Before joining the firm, Mr. Al-Ansari worked at a leading international firm where he was exposed to cross-border transactions and disputes. Furthermore, he worked as a full-time lecturer of law at Qatar University College of Law, where he taught courses such as Company Law and Legal Research and Writing. Salman serves as an arbitrator in many local and international arbitrations. He is ranked as a leading lawyer in dispute resolution and corporate by various ranking platforms.

Work Highlights

- Advised QNB as Qatar Law expert in ICSID dispute.

- Advised the State of Qatar as Qatar Law expert in ICSID dispute.

- Represented Junior’s Restaurant before the Investment and Trade Court in a high-stakes dispute challenging an administrative decision issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry refusing the registration of the client’s trademark.

- Represented Junior’s Restaurant in a 200 million QAR dispute before the Investment and Trade Court.

- Advised and issued a capacity opinion addressed to an entity incorporated in Kazakhstan, to confirm the corporate existence, capacity, and authority of UCC and its subsidiaries to enter into a parent company guarantee relating to an EPC Contract in connection with the second line of the Beineu-Bozoi Shymkent gas pipeline project in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

- Advised and issued a capacity opinion addressed to the investment agent to confirm the corporate existence and capacity of Msheireb Properties LLC (“MP”) to enter into a Murabaha agreement.

- Advised on a USD 5,000,000,000 asset-linked secured notes programme. The transaction involved entry into a Qatari-law-governed account pledge agreement in respect of the deposit account held at Qatar National Bank QPSC.

- Advised PayPal Pte. Ltd, a Singapore MAS-licensed entity (“PayPal”) with respect to their Crypto Merchant Onboarding in the Middle East and North Africa Region.

- Advised PayPal Network Pte Ltd (“PayPal”) in relation to the new payment system that PayPal intended to launch to facilitate cross-border payments between bank accounts, e-money wallets, and mobile money wallets.

- Advised and issued capacity and enforceability opinions in two separate financial transactions involving North Oil Company as borrower valued at 1.5 billion USD.

- Advised Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat) QPSC in the re-domiciliation of three Nakilat shipping.

- Represented Al Muftah Group WLL in the purchase of 51% of the issued share capital of Qatar Scientific Company W.L.L. ("QSC").

- Advised Mesaimeer City Real Estate Company on a 50+ million QAR assets acquisition.

- Advised the Qatar Media City - Qatar Flim Committee.

- Represented North Oil in multi-discipline disputes.

- Represented Occidental Petroleum in a multi-million dispute.

- Represented Voltas in a QAR billion litigation.

- Represented QRail in a multi-billion dollars arbitrations.
