He has a distinguished career in private and public sectors. This includes, extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, finance, private international law, arbitration, privatisation, regulatory governance. Furthermore, he spearheaded the drafting of key trade, economic and public sector reform initiatives, Jordan’s public debt law, including being the primary legal advisor on Jordan’s WTO accession, various reforms, establishment and regulation of Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
Dr. Al-Bashir was appointed as member of the Regulations Committee at the Royal Commission for Al-Ula in KSA 2021. He was designated by the Government of Jordan as conciliator at International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes-ICSID upon which World Bank/ICSID appointed him as member of ICISD Panel of Conciliators, March2021.
Served as Minister of; Foreign Affairs, Government Performance, Justice, Prime Ministry Affairs, Industry and Trade. Appointed by H.M King Abdullah II as Senator 2010-2011. Appointed by His Majesty as member of both Economic Policy Council and Judicial Reform Committee-Developing Judiciary and Enhancing Rule of Law.
