Dr. Al Bashir has had a distinguished career in both the private and public sectors. He enjoys an extensive experience in corporate and commercial law including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and finance, private international law and privatization and regulatory governance. He has also spearheaded the drafting of key trade, economic and public sector reform initiatives.
He represented private companies and sovereign states in a wide range of arbitration including BOT contracts, telecommunications regulatory structures, construction and development contracts before Jordanian and regional arbitration fora, the International Chamber of Commerce - International Court of Arbitration (ICC), and ICSID.
Career
Appointed as member of the Regulations Committee at the Royal Commission for Al-Ula in KSA 2021. He was designated by the Government of Jordan as conciliator at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes upon which the World Bank/ICSID appointed him as member of ICISD Panel of Conciliators March 2021.
Served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Government Performance, Justice, Prime Ministry Affairs, Industry and Trade. Appointed as Senator 2010-2011. Appointed as member of both Economic Policy Council and Judicial Reform Committee-Developing Judiciary and Enhancing Rule of Law.
