Ruud van der Velden has almost 20 years’ experience in cross-border patent litigation. He litigates before all Courts in the Netherlands, the EPO and the Unified Patent Court. He represents companies in all technological fields, with a particular focus on the high tech and life sciences industries and he has an excellent track record in complicated cases.
Besides litigation, Ruud also works with clients on their patent and trade secret protection strategies. He regularly lectures and publishes on patent and trade secret topics. He received the Dutch AIPPI award for his publication on obtaining evidence of patent infringement.
Ruud received the Managing IP ‘Patent Practitioner of the Year’ Award for the Netherlands in 2024. He is also the recipient of the Gold Hourglass Award and two Client Choice Awards and he is recommended by all legal directories.
