Ross leads our Environmental Team. He is dual qualified in Scotland and England & Wales and advises across the UK in relation to all aspects of environmental law. He has extensive expertise in contaminated land, energy, environmental liability, minerals, waste management and environmental permitting. Ross has advised on a range of projects, including residential, energy, commercial, industrial, urban and rural developments. Ross has also provided environmental support to large scale corporate, banking and property transactions.
Ross also has over 18 years’ experience of acting for landowners, mineral operators and landfill companies on mineral extraction (e.g. sand, gravel, hard rock, limestone and coal) and quarry restoration projects. This includes advising on sale and lease arrangements for new quarry assets; infill and restoration agreements; the development of recycling facilities; PFA/ coal fines storage and sale agreements; mineral supply agreements; planning obligations and restoration bonding arrangements for quarry assets; and property arrangements for ancillary assets (e.g. block making plants, cross-country mineral conveyor belts, jetty arrangements etc.).
