Rory provides coverage advice concerning virtually every type of general, excess, and professional liability insurance policy, including employment practices liability; directors and officers (D&O) liability; and malpractice/errors or omissions policies. He handles the investigation and evaluation of multi-faceted and high-exposure claims such as class actions and complex coverage issues. Rory has litigated numerous trials through appeal, which includes multi-party cases, and major declaratory judgment, liability, and rescission actions.

In addition to his legal work for the insurance industry, Rory has defended medical professionals and life science companies. He has also handled a broad range of professional negligence, life and disability insurance, commercial litigation, and products liability matters. Further, in the labor and employment arena, Rory has advised employers on a wide range of disputes, including those concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Rory plays an active role in firm management, serving as a member of Hinshaw's Executive Committee. Before joining Hinshaw, Rory practiced for nearly 20 years at a Florida-based firm. During his tenure, he led his litigation team in the Ft. Lauderdale office and was a shareholder in the firm. Rory also practiced in New York and Connecticut, and was counsel to a leading, multinational insurer.

In addition to his involvement in other activities and associations during law school, Rory was a member of the Albany Law Review.
