Rob is a partner in Pinsent Masons’ pensions & long-term savings team who specialises in pensions risk transfer work. He has extensive experience of advising pension scheme trustees, sponsoring employers, insurers and reinsurers on buy-ins, buy-outs and longevity hedging transactions, including a number of landmark deals for major pension funds.

Rob's breadth of experience sets him apart from many other lawyers in this field, and means he is perfectly placed to give a rounded view of the market and to navigate transactions effectively.

Rob also advises on a wide range of issues affecting defined benefit and defined contribution schemes, and is known for his strategic, assured and personable approach to tackling issues such as risk transfer, scheme closures, benefit changes, GMP equalisation, funding arrangements, bulk transfers and liability management exercises. Rob is a member of the Association and Pensions Lawyers and participates in two industry working groups focusing on pensions risk transfer and endgame solutions.
