Robert Starin’s practice emphasizes federal, state, and international tax issues and general corporate issues for both US and international clients. He has worked on numerous transactions involving mergers and acquisitions (US domestic and cross-border), divestitures, complex joint ventures, and inbound and outbound investments. He advises public and private corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships on various tax matters, including choice of entity, structuring of international operations, and executive compensation issues.

Robert’s practice also emphasizes tax issues arising in the public finance area. His experience includes assisting issuers and borrowers in a variety of tax-exempt financing transactions, including capital projects, revenue financings, and tax and revenue anticipation financings for state and local governmental entities, as well as financings and debt restructurings for nonprofit organizations. He also assists clients with post-issuance compliance matters and advises issuers undergoing tax audits.
