Richard is an advocate who is familiar with all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration. His particular expertise is in insurance, shipping, energy and commodities.

His insurance experience includes professional indemnity insurance, insurance broking law and professional negligence of insurance brokers and other professions, coverage disputes, injunctions, and recovery of insurance assets, as well as reinsurance.

His shipping experience is extensive, having been involved in many bareboat, time charter, and voyage charter cases, bills of lading cases, casualties, ship management cases and related matters.

Richard is also regularly instructed on natural resources and energy disputes, including oil infrastructure and energy markets. He is familiar with most aspects of oil trading (including hedging), shipment of oil cargoes, contamination of products, cases involving force majeure issues and claims arising in emerging and established energy markets globally.

Richard has also deal with commodities related claims throughout his career, including GAFTA, FOSFA and other commodity arbitrations.
