Richard is a hands-on, strategically-minded lawyer who is comfortable leading or working as part of a team in some of the most complex, substantial and high value disputes in the market.
With over a decade of experience as a litigator and international arbitration counsel, he has a very broad advocacy and advisory practice spanning the full range of domestic and international commercial disputes, as well as overlapping issues in areas such as contentious trusts, proceeds of crime, public corruption and public international law.
Richard was appointed directly to the SFO’s “A” Panel of Counsel (Proceeds of Crime and International Assistance) in December 2024 and is one of very few English juniors to have been called (ad hoc) to the Bar of Trinidad & Tobago (2024-ongoing, representing the Attorney General of Trinidad & Tobago). He has also developed sought-after niche specialisms in: (a) obtaining cross-border evidence and Letters of Request; (b) the interaction between open justice and confidentiality / publicity restrictions / private hearings; and (c) classic car disputes.
