Career

For over 25 years, Frilot partner Renee Culotta has focused her legal practice on employment litigation. She represents both private and public employers in matters involving sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and constitutional claims. Renee manages cases at every stage from EEOC charges through appeal, and frequently tries cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. Known for her diligence, creativity, and thorough preparation, Renee is a trusted advocate and advisor.

In addition to her litigation work, Renee counsels clients on a wide range of employment issues aimed at preventing disputes and reducing legal risk. Her advice is grounded in real-world experience: before attending law school, she worked in the HR department of a Baton Rouge health clinic, and during law school, she served in the Department of the Army at the Pentagon, conducting investigations into sexual harassment. Her work earned her a letter of commendation.

Renee brings a practical, proactive approach to helping employers navigate:

- Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding

- Drafting employment agreements

- Creating handbooks and workplace policies

- Addressing ADA accommodations

- Managing FMLA leave

- Conducting internal investigations

- Complying with wage and hour laws

- Handling discipline, terminations, and severance

A dynamic speaker and trainer, Renee regularly presents seminars on employment law topics. Her background in theater makes her sessions anything but ordinary. She incorporates music, videos, case studies, and interactive elements to keep audiences engaged. Participants consistently describe her presentations as “engaging,” “insightful,” and “spot-on.” One attendee captured it best: “She knows her topic and loves what she does.”
