Ravi Naik is the Legal Director at AWO, a pioneering law firm and consultancy at the forefront of data protection and digital governance. A multi-award-winning solicitor, Ravi was named the Law Society’s Human Rights Lawyer of the Year (2018–2019) for his work defending rights in an era of rapid technological change.

Ravi has spearheaded landmark legal actions against some of the world’s most powerful tech companies – including Cambridge Analytica, Meta (Facebook), and Google – helping to redefine global standards around privacy, data protection, and online advertising. His recent cases, such as RTM v Bonne Terre and Tanya O’Carroll v Meta, continue to shape the legal landscape and public discourse on the use of data.

With a practice that spans all levels of UK courts as well as European jurisdictions, Ravi advises a diverse array of clients – from multinational corporations and government bodies to artists and civil society organisations – on cutting-edge issues like AI regulation, targeted advertising, and smart city infrastructure. He is widely regarded as a leading authority on the GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, and related regulatory frameworks.

Beyond the courtroom, Ravi is an Honorary Professor of Practice at UCL Laws, where he teaches and co-curated the course, AI for Lawyers. He is a former Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute. Through these roles he contributed to academic and policy debates on technology and human rights. He appears regularly in major media outlets including the BBC, Financial Times, The Guardian, and The New York Times. Ravi's work has featured in documentaries such as The Great Hack and Coded Bias, and he regularly delivers keynote speeches and expert submissions at institutions including Harvard, Oxford, and the UK Parliament.
