Raoul specialises in the structuring, setting up and distribution of a wide range of investment funds, with a particular focus on alternative investment funds investing in all major asset classes including real estate, debt, private equity, and infrastructure.
He has also gained deep knowledge of retail investment funds (notably UCITS) by advising major global asset managers on their multibillion Luxembourg flagship funds.
In parallel, Raoul advises global financial institutions on a variety of regulatory matters, notably licencing requirements, major financial services regulations (e.g. MiFID, AIFMD, PSD, AML), and Luxembourg regulatory aspects of acquisitions and group restructurings.
Raoul regularly advises on digital assets topics, including on fund tokenisation, crypto assets, and custody of digital assets.
Beyond the Office
He is part of several working groups of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), including on fund distribution, MiFID 2 and FinTech, as well as of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA).
He is also part of the Payments Forum and FinTech and Innovation Forum of the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL).
Education, Qualifications and Languages
Raoul holds an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary University of London. He further holds a Master’s degree from Paul Cézanne University (Aix-en-Provence) in Comparative Business Law.
Raoul is admitted to the Luxembourg Bar. He is fluent in English, German, French and Luxembourgish.
