Rafael Rivera currently is the Managing Partner of BDO Panamá and BDO Legal. Mr. Rivera counts with a LLM in International Taxation from Universeiteit Leiden.

Rafael has more than 25 years of experience. He has a wide experience in the areas of tax advice, tax planning and tax litigation services (including administrative and judicial proceedings, focused on dispute resolution), M&A tax and legal advice (including tax treaty situations and transactions that are governed exclusively by internal tax rules, evaluation of stock offerings versus asset transactions, and tax analysis of public bidding proposals).

Mr. Rivera has also been speaker in different Congress such as the 1st Congress on International Taxation organized by IFA Panamá in which was a panelist over the topic “Review of anti-abuse clauses and the impact of MLI (Multilateral Instruments in tax treaties)”
