Rafael Araripe Carneiro is the founding partner and administrator of Carneiros Advogados, with over 18 years of experience. He is a highly skilled lawyer in matters related to the functioning of the Superior Courts.
He has extensive experience in both legal advisory and contentious matters, spanning administrative and judicial proceedings.
Recognised as a legal strategist, Rafael excels in analysing the higher courts and their members’ profiles. He is also regarded as one of the most active figures before the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
Rafael is currently pursuing a PhD in Fundamental Rights and Electoral Law at Humboldt University Berlin. He holds an LLM in Constitutional Law (2009) from the same institution, as well as a specialisation degree in Tax Law (2007) from the Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos Tributários (IBET) and an LLB (2006) from the Centro Universitário de Brasília (CEUB).
He is a professor at the Instituto Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento e Pesquisa (IDP), where he also coordinates the Research Group on Jurisdiction and Competitiveness in Infrastructure Regulation. He serves as Vice-President of the National Electoral Law Committee of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), is a member of the Superior Council for Legal Affairs of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP), and acts as Legal Director of the Institute for Climate, Innovation and Technology, as well as Legal Counsel to the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM).
