Auren Spain’s Media & Technology (M&T) department has more than 26 years of experience advising clients at the intersection of law, innovation and creativity. The team is widely recognised for its deep expertise in the audiovisual, entertainment, and technology sectors. Over the past four years, the department has further consolidated its position as a legal reference in areas such as esports, virtual environments, and cutting-edge digital platforms.
We deliver strategic legal counsel in two core verticals:
• Media & Entertainment: Rights acquisition, audiovisual and music production, co-productions, talent and image rights, copyright defence, sponsorships, influencer marketing, advertising regulation, and collective rights management. The team also has notable expertise in advising streaming platforms, interactive advertising campaigns and large-scale events.
• Technology & Innovation: Our team advises on technology licensing and contracting, e-commerce, software, AI and data use compliance, fintech, blockchain, apps and platforms, virtual reality, metaverse regulation, and videogame development. We are trusted partners in complex digital transformation and innovation processes, offering regulatory clarity and operational security.
Career
Partner and co-director of the Auren Legal division at the Madrid office. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Auren Legal Spain. Ten years ago, she took on the challenge of establishing and leading the firm’s Media & Tech practice nationwide.
A tech lawyer with 25 years of experience advising the Entertainment & Leisure and Technology sectors. Her participation on Boards of Directors, both in national and international companies, has given her a 360-degree cross-functional perspective that directly influences her approach to proposing solutions and addressing legal challenges.
For the past seven years, she has been actively involved in Artificial Intelligence and technology projects, while continuing to focus on international co-productions, financial advising for audiovisual productions, content distribution, and the protection of intellectual and industrial property.
I share my knowledge through teaching and mentoring. Being an Auren ambassador is a must!

María Negro Carbonero: Manager of the Media and Tech department of AUREN, with more than nine years of experience in the area of intellectual and industrial property, from different perspectives of the business world.
Her experience prior to joining Auren includes her participation as a lawyer at Clarke Modet & Co and PONS IP, as an international advisor in intellectual property and technology matters. She has also worked as in-house counsel at RECLAMADOR.ES, a leading legaltech company in Spain, as head of the technology and intellectual property legal area.
