Phil head ups Brodies environmental law practice and advises on a wide range of environmental matters (both site specific and industry-wide) including waste, water pollution and contaminated land. He acts for a broad range of stakeholders in relation to contractual protection mechanisms, warranties and indemnities and risk allocation and is known for cutting to the heart of matters and relaying complex advice in a user friendly and understandable way.
Phil is co-organiser of the Brodies and Edinburgh University environmental law lectures series and is a member of the Scottish Contaminated Land Forum. He is currently vice-chair of the UK Environmental Law Association (UKELA) and a member of its national council and executive, with responsibility for Scotland. He is also a member of the UKELA Brexit taskforce which has published independent analysis on Brexit implications in key areas, to assist better understanding of the legal challenges posed by the process.
