Peter Newman

Peter is a senior junior specialising in matrimonial finance work. For many years he has been recognised as a leading practitioner in this field - recently described in the legal directories as "the best junior for complicated financial matters”, who is "hugely in demand… brilliant on his feet”, "truly excellent in court”, and a "superb advocate" who is “at the top of his game”.

He continues as Chair of the FLBA’s Matrimonial Finance sub-committee, and he been in this role since 2020. He has been an elected member of the FLBA National Committee since 2017.

Peter also sits regularly as a judge for ‘Private FDRs’ and is ranked by the legal directories as a leading provider of Private FDR evaluations, described as “an excellent choice… his judgement is spot on” and “always on top of the papers”.

Peter was a major scholar at Malvern College. He has a BA (Hons) degree in English and Philosophy and a LLB (Hons) degree in Law (First Class honours)
