Drawing on over 20 years of legal experience, Peter Klein advises buyers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers on the full spectrum of legal issues relevant to real estate development. Pete has significant expertise in real estate finance, permitting, land use, project development and construction, and commercial leasing transactions. A significant portion of Pete’s practice focuses on representing developers, lenders, and investors in projects involving historic tax credits and low-income housing tax credits as funding sources. Pete’s loyal clients appreciate not only his expertise but also his collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to his practice. Experience in representing the counterparties in other projects gives Pete the ability to understand and anticipate what the other parties will need and efficiently navigate a project to closing.
Pete successfully represented developers in the re-development of the Lincoln Mill in Biddeford (a historic tax credit project), the Picker House in Lewiston (a combined historic and low-income housing project), the Lockwood Mill in Waterville (a combined historic and low-income housing tax credit project) among others. Pete has also represented the lenders and investors in the redevelopment of 45 Forest Avenue in Portland (a historic tax credit project), among others.
