Peter Kauma is a Partner at K&K Advocates and leads the firm's Litigation Team, which has grown substantially in reach and reputation under his direction. He is recognised for delivering commercially intelligent, strategically sound solutions to complex and high-stakes disputes, with a practice spanning commercial litigation, arbitration, oil and gas, energy, banking and finance, and taxation. He has particular expertise in investor-state and state-related disputes, having acted as counsel under the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA).

Peter has advised on high-value matters across Uganda's energy and infrastructure sectors, including petroleum supply arrangements, refinery and pipeline development, mining and carbon framework agreements, and aviation infrastructure. An active researcher on the oil and gas sector, he holds an LLM in Oil and Gas and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Certified Insolvency Practitioner.
