Edwin Karugire is a founding partner of K&K Advocates and leads the firm's Transactions practice. With over 25 years at the forefront of Uganda's commercial legal market, he is one of the country's most trusted advisers on complex domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly in energy and infrastructure. His practice spans the development, financing, acquisition, and restructuring of major projects across upstream and downstream petroleum, power generation, large-scale construction, and public-private partnerships, regularly acting for state-owned entities, international sponsors, and multilateral lenders across the full oil and gas value chain.
Edwin's broader transactional practice covers high-value M&A, joint ventures, banking and finance, and telecommunications, including a defining role in some of Uganda's most significant telecoms transactions. He also handles notable commercial disputes, bringing the same commercial pragmatism to contentious matters, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
