Peter is a member of the Firm’s Commercial Department and his practice includes Mergers and Acquisitions (which has included extensive due diligence), Pensions, Intellectual Property and Hotel Sales ,Project Finance, Capital Markets, Security Documentation, Regulatory Advice (including relating to the Jamaica Stock Exchange, the Office of Utilities Regulation, the Financial Services Commission and the Bank of Jamaica). Peter has also been involved with several Public Private Partnerships.

Career

Peter is the former Managing Partner of the firm and head of the Intellectual Property Department.

CENTURY NATIONAL BANK

Part of team responsible for placing Century National Bank under temporary management under the Banking Act; this exercise involved the review of loan documents and questionable transactions into which the bank entered; also part of litigation team which included final appeals to the Privy Council against the directors and for recovery of non-performing loans

Main Attorney responsible for advising the financial advisers placing Workers’ Savings & Loan Bank into temporary management; reviewing documents and correspondence evidencing bad loans and questionable transactions into which the bank entered.

FINSAC

Part of the legal team advising FINSAC in relation to the restructuring and sale of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited and other financial institutions given a number of bad loans and poor banking decisions made by the bank and questionable transactions into which the bank had entered; negotiating with the creditors of these financial institutions and preparing for suit against some of them; advising the client generally in relation to the sale of these non-performing loans and sale of some of the under-performing institutions.
