Data Protection:
This is a developing area and legislation is imminent. MF&G provides advice to both local and international clients on issues regarding data protection, privacy and cybersecurity. The firm can assist with the drafting and/or reviewing of data protection policies, data processing and data transfer agreements as well as agreements with employees and third- party service providers. It can also conduct a data protection and privacy audit to ensure that your organisation is compliant with pending legislation.

Energy:
MFG represents investors and operating businesses in the fields of electricity generation, petroleum refinery, sales and distribution. MFG has continued its work in the diversification of the rapidly developing energy sector and has continued to represent clients in the provision of liquefied natural gas to Jamaica and Eight Rivers Energy Company Limited in the provision of renewable energy (solar) to Jamaica.

MFG represents local and international clients with mergers and acts for both vendors and purchasers of companies, with respect to share and asset acquisition. Additionally, MFG acts for financiers in merger and acquisitions both in Jamaica and internationally. MFG advises clients on issues such as corporate structure, tax, securities law, stock exchange rules, environmental liability, pensions and employment.

Litigation & Arbitration:
MFG’s attorneys appear regularly in local courts around Jamaica which are the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the Parish Courts. Additionally, MFG’s attorneys also appear before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London (Jamaica’s final court of appeal). MFG regularly acts for clients in labour disputes and appears for clients before the Industrial Disputes Tribunal.
