Peter Goddard is the co-founder of IMG Trust Company. He has over 30 years of industry experience, with particular expertise in complex trusts litigation and asset recovery.

With a background as a barrister and roles at firms such as Maples Group and Forbes Hare Trust Company, Peter brings technical excellence, innovative thinking, and superior client relationship management to his practice.

Peter is responsible for developing and overseeing philanthropic programmes, including managing a $400 million foundation for neurodegenerative research.

His personalised approach and strategic methodology lead him to founding IMG with business partner Maxine Bodden Robinson in 2022, recognising a niche for an experienced trust company that offers more personalised, lasting professional relationships with clients as an alternative to global service providers. In just two years, IMG has hit many milestones, establishing itself as a trusted name in the industry.

Peter has authored several notable publications, including "Time for a New Philanthropic Revolution" with renowned KC Michael Mansfield and "Creating a Long-lasting Effective Philanthropy Plan" with Rebecca Eastmond, published in the International Family Offices journal in October 2023. He has also facilitated the creation of two thought leadership programmes, designed to support advisors involved in philanthropy and contentious trust work. Both programmes involved participation of notable figures including two OBE recipients.

Peter has been recognised as a Who’s Who Legal ‘Thought Leader’ and received the 2024 Lexology Client Choice Award for Private Client Trust & Advisory Services. Recently, he was named in the Citywealth 2024 '75 Top Trustees' list.
