Peter Glanville

Peter Glanville is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura, based in Hong Kong. A forensic accounting and investigations expert, he specialises in complex cross-border disputes and regulatory matters.

He is regularly instructed by leading international law firms, multinational corporates and regulators on high stakes matters involving allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption, accounting irregularities, market misconduct and sanctions exposure.

Peter is recognised for his ability to combine forensic accounting, business intelligence and data analytics to uncover and distil complex financial issues into clear, defensible evidence. His work frequently supports litigation and international arbitration, including the preparation of expert reports and evidential materials for use in contentious proceedings.

With more than 25 years of experience, Peter has led and advised on complex investigations and forensic accounting matters across Asia-Pacific, the United Kingdom and Europe.

His experience spans large-scale, multi-jurisdictional investigations involving corporate misconduct, financial misstatement, market manipulation and regulatory breaches, often requiring the analysis and reconstruction of extensive financial data and records. Peter also regularly undertakes proactive compliance management engagements on behalf of clients.

He is particularly experienced in working alongside legal counsel and regulators to establish factual findings, develop evidential records and support case strategy. His work includes the preparation of expert reports and presentation of complex financial analysis to C-suite, legal, regulatory and government stakeholders in contentious matters.

Instructed by a law firm in relation to a shareholder dispute involving a Hong Kong-registered company with operations in Mainland China. The work included undertaking complex financial analysis using incomplete and newly disclosed information, providing summaries of analysis in the form of memoranda, as well as producing affidavits and witness statements for court. Peter also provided oral evidence in the High Court of Hong Kong in support of the written expert evidence provided.

Conducted a multi-jurisdictional proactive compliance assessment (and subsequent investigation into wrongdoing) for a U.S.-headquartered global medical device company into multiple third-party distributors, assessing compliance with contractual obligations and anti-bribery, sanctions and trade laws in applicable jurisdictions. The work included leading a global team to deliver financial analysis, sample selection and pre-onsite reviews, alongside reporting on key issues and risks identified.

Instructed by Counsel to conduct an investigation into an Asian based subsidiary of a music company, in response to internal concerns regarding the integrity of financial processes and vendor transactions. The work included assessing the risk of improper expense claims and evaluating the effectiveness of the company’s internal controls in mitigating financial and related party risk. Peter led a team of Ankura forensic accounting experts to perform a comprehensive financial analysis of key figures, including review of expense trends, vendor concentration and profitability metrics, to assess the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Instructed by an Asia-based financial services organisation to conduct in-depth business intelligence and investigations into 17 individuals, identifying their locations and associated assets outside of Mainland China. The work included business intelligence tracing across Asia, Australia, North America, Africa and the UK, analysis of public records in local languages, retrieval of property title deeds, and offshore searches, including in the British Virgin Islands, to uncover property and equity holdings in support of enforcement actions
