Peter deals with all aspects of private family law including high net worth finance, private children and pre/post nuptial agreements. He has particular experience in cases involving trusts and companies and also mental capacity. Peter is also an FMC Accredited Mediator.
Career
Peter studied at the University of Nottingham and spent a year at the University of Melbourne, achieving a 2:1 in his BA in Law with Australian Law (with distinction). After his LPC, Peter went on to train at top ranked family law firm Withers LLP, where he qualified in 2005. In 2013 he co-founded Burgess Mee Family Law which now has 16 lawyers across 3 offices.

Peter is an active member of Resolution, serving as Secretary on the National and Executive Committee. He is also chair of the Drafting Committee.

Personal
Peter works tirelessly for his clients, but in his spare time he enjoys running and yoga and spending time with his family.

Peter acts for clients from all walks of life. His cases have ranged from medium sized high net worth clients at around the £2m mark to clients with hundreds of millions of pounds. They come from a range of backgrounds – homemakers, tech entrepreneurs, financial services, inherited wealth and a broad range of industries in the commercial world.
Work Highlights
Peter has been involved in some of the leading cases in family law. These include the leading case of Charman, which he was involved in as a trainee and junior associate. Most recently he appeared in the Court of Appeal in Cazalet v Abu Zalaf..

Peter is an expert in financial remedies law, pre-nuptial agreements and private children disputes. He is an FMC accredited mediator. Peter’s particular expertise lies in complex cases involving trusts or corporate structures, ultra-high net worth prenups and financial remedies cases and cases involving issues of capacity.
