Pavol Poláček is the founder and Managing Partner of POLÁČEK & PARTNERS. He focuses on energy and utilities, dispute resolution, real estate and construction, regulatory matters, major projects and strategic transactions. Pavol Poláček founded POLÁČEK & PARTNERS in 2013 and has served as its Managing Partner since its establishment. He leads the firm’s most strategically significant energy, regulatory, infrastructure, real estate, construction and contentious mandates and is responsible for the firm’s overall strategy and development.
Before establishing the firm, Pavol managed the Bratislava office of Havel & Partners and was a partner at Semančín Poláček. He began his legal career at ULC Čarnogurský and gained international experience through placements with Yulchon in Seoul and Thieffry & Associés in Paris.
His practice combines Slovak market knowledge with international experience and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary and cross-border teams. He is fluent in English and French.

Pavol leads strategic energy, real estate and construction mandates as well as related disputes. In energy, he advises on regulation, renewable generation, battery storage, local distribution systems, district heating, grid connection, energy sharing, on-site PPAs, industrial electrification and major energy procurements. His work includes utility-scale battery and photovoltaic projects and the development of regulatory and legislative solutions for the energy transition.
In real estate and construction, Pavol advises investors, developers, funds, contractors and industrial companies on acquisitions, development structures, land rights, due diligence, permitting and construction contracts. His representative work includes logistics and retail assets, infrastructure, industrial modernisation and the integration of renewable generation, storage and charging infrastructure into real estate portfolios.
Pavol also leads landmark disputes. He represented members of the Slovak Parliament in Constitutional Court proceedings concerning the G-component, securing a ruling that an approximately EUR 30 million payment obligation imposed on electricity producers was unconstitutional, and subsequently led restitution proceedings for more than 100 producers. His work also includes an award-winning constitutional dispute concerning historical state-security records and complex energy, construction, FIDIC, real estate and administrative litigation.
Pavol has more than two decades of legal experience and is recognised as a leading practitioner by Chambers Europe, Chambers Global, The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and Who’s Who Legal for his work in energy, dispute resolution, real estate and construction.
He acts for Slovak and international companies, investors, developers, contractors, energy market participants, industry associations, municipalities and public authorities. His experience includes strategic regulatory advice, legislative and policy work, transactions, project development, crisis management and complex disputes.
Pavol regularly represents clients in proceedings before the Regulatory Office for Network Industries, administrative authorities and Slovak courts, including the Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, and acts as counsel in arbitration proceedings. He is known for developing clear legal, procedural and commercial strategies in matters requiring coordination between legal, technical, financial and communications teams.
