Paul has an international reputation as a commercial silk specialising in construction, engineering, property damage and insurance coverage claims (including fraud). He regularly appears as advocate in English High Court litigation as well as international and domestic arbitrations involving complex legal and technical issues in respect of engineering, construction, technology and infrastructure and energy projects, some of which also involve issues relating to insurance coverage for damage, defects and business interruption.
He is instructed by firms around the world on behalf of major construction, engineering and energy companies, governments and state entities and, in recent years, he has acted in disputes in Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, UAE and Asia relating to projects arising out of large developments, hospitals, oil and gas installations (onshore and offshore) construction of roads and ships, pipe laying, tunnelling, coastal defences, utilities, chemical plants, and airport terminals.
