Patricia A O Bunye

Patricia A. O. Bunye heads the Mining & Natural Resources Department and the Energy practice group of Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia, and is also a Partner in its Intellectual Property Department.

Her Intellectual Property practice is focused on trademarks and IP commercialization, including licensing and franchising.

She was the President of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) from 2016-2017, the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to hold the position. In 2020, she received LESI’s Award of Achievement which is conferred on LES members who have made lasting contributions to LESI and the licensing profession.

She is the founding President of Diwata-Women in Resource Development, Inc, an NGO advocating the responsible development of the Philippines’ wealth in resources. She is also a columnist in Philippine Resources, a mining, petroleum and energy publication.

She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Chairman of the Good Governance Committee of the Makati Business Club.

She is in the 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018 lists of The Philippines’ Top 100 Lawyers, and has been cited by various international law research publications such as Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific, Legal 500, Asia Law, among many others.
