Olga provides advice on strategic, commercial and regulatory matters to businesses across a range of industries. Her specialisation, backed by extensive experience, includes a particular focus on corporate transactions (M&A), complex cross-border debt and equity financing arrangements at all stages of the corporate lifecycle. She has deep experience advising on regulatory frameworks applicable to e-gambling, emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, digital platforms, privacy and data security, electronic communications networks and services, as well as intellectual property, technology transactions (procurement, outsourcing and transfer) and software licensing. Olga is also active in related areas, such as AML compliance.
Work Highlights
-Advising Umnai Ltd, a deep-tech company, which has developed a new ground-breaking neuro-symbolic architecture for explainable hybrid artificial intelligence (XAI), breaking through the limitations of the current prevailing AI technology with the formulation of submissions for US, Canada, Europe via PCT patents and Taiwan patents. In total, she has assisted Umnai with the application for over 50 patents, out of which 30 have been now granted in the USA, Canada and Taiwan
-Advising one of the world’s leading social media platforms on the company’s obligations in Malta emanating from the EU ePrivacy Directive in relation to actions to be carried out in response to a cybersecurity incident
-Advising Spin Master Corp. (TSX: TOY) in the acquisition of Rubik’s Brand Ltd, owner of the world-famous Rubik’s Cube®
-Advising the Malta Gaming Authority on the drafting of the Gaming Act (2018, Chapter 583 Laws of Malta)
