Nicolas Thieltgen is Managing Partner of the firm and heads the Banking & Finance and Dispute Resolution departments. He advises domestic and international clients on complex disputes, regulatory matters and strategic financial issues involving significant operational and reputational stakes.
His dispute resolution practice covers civil, commercial and administrative litigation, shareholder conflicts, directors’ liability, banking and financial litigation, as well as white-collar crime proceedings. He is particularly recognised for handling high-stakes and sensitive disputes requiring strategic positioning and procedural precision.
In parallel, he provides regulatory and banking advisory services, notably in crisis situations, restructuring contexts and matters involving supervisory authorities.
Nicolas regularly represents clients before all Luxembourg courts, including in urgent and ex parte proceedings, as well as before European courts and authorities. He also has significant experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes, asset recovery and enforcement of foreign judgments.
Career
Admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 2001, Nicolas Thieltgen has built over two decades of experience in complex dispute resolution and financial regulatory matters.
As Managing Partner, he has developed a strong reputation in Luxembourg for high-stakes litigation, particularly in shareholder disputes, commercial conflicts, banking litigation and financial crime proceedings.
His practice is distinguished by the combination of strategic litigation and regulatory expertise, allowing him to anticipate risk exposure and structure defence or negotiation strategies accordingly.
He previously served as an elected Member of the Luxembourg Bar Council (2018–2020).
