Career

Nick is a partner based in our Dubai office and the Head of the firm’s Middle East contentious construction and engineering practice. Nick focuses on construction and engineering disputes in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Nick advises on disputes across the GCC and wider Middle East. Nick helps parties involved in major international projects navigate the various issues that arise in construction and engineering disputes. He has an in-depth understanding of the complex challenges in bringing and defending claims relating to time, cost and quality. He works closely with the various technical experts that are often essential to the successful resolution of construction disputes, leveraging their evidence in legal argument to achieve a commercially favourable result. Nick’s experience covers matters of a variety of scale and complexity in the energy (including renewables), infrastructure, oil & gas, and transport sectors. Nick has acted on international arbitrations under all the major institutional rules, and involving all major forms of procurement (construction, design and build, EPC). He also regularly conducts training on issues specific to construction arbitration in Middle East jurisdictions.
