Practice Areas

Nicholas Wragg is a specialist criminal solicitor and Crown Court advocate with substantial high level experience. His first career as a scientist explains much of his technical expertise and discipline. He has a meticulous eye for detail, and works relentlessly in preparing his cases in order to achieve the best outcome.

He was called to the bar in 2001, and later cross qualified as a solicitor. Practicing in London at the time, Nicholas developed a specialism in complex work which saw him join the expert criminal law team at Stone King in 2012. He is a passionate advocate for his clients, whether at the Police Station, in the Magistrates Court, Crown Court or Court of Appeal. His focus is always on his clients story, how they are coping, and how he can help. He has a natural creativity which he utilises in his cases, always adapting his practice to the clients need and the case at hand in order to find a solution.

Nicholas has a particular depth of expertise in cases involving alleged sexual offending, he is recognised as one of the leading experts in his field and has co-authored a chapter on online sexual offending. He also contributed to a times radio piece on online sexual offending and the ability of the law to keep up with technological developments. He has dealt with hundreds of such cases in recent years. Frequent instructions include contact sexual offending and historic allegations, as well as vigilante groups and indecent imagery.

His expertise in cases involving sexual offending extends beyond his case load. He takes a keen interest in reducing risk and therefore the harm caused by sexual offending or harmful sexual behaviour. He regularly engages with charities and organisations who work in rehabilitation. Nicholas’s practice also includes acting for neurodivergent clients and the complex issues that arise.

Nicholas is one of a few specialist practitioners in shotgun and firearms licensing appeals. His wealth of experience in cases of this nature mean clients can get expert straightforward and comprehensive advice on the prospects of success within the first meeting.

His naturally compassionate approach ensures clients feel supported and understood. He quickly becomes a trusted advisor.

Personal

When Nicholas isn’t working he is likely to either be out riding his motorbike, (avoiding his many DIY tasks), listening to his music collection or trying to find a quiet corner in his favourite coffee shop with a crossword and cake.

Nicholas has travelled widely in South East Asia and Europe.
