Nicholas Turner is a highly experienced construction and infrastructure specialist based in Hong Kong, advising clients across Greater China and the wider Asia Pacific region. With more than two decades of on the ground experience in Hong Kong and Mainland China, he is widely recognised for his deep understanding of complex, high value construction and engineering disputes.
He regularly assists contractors, subcontractors, consultants and owners on project execution, claims strategy, risk management and dispute resolution across major transport, energy and civil engineering developments in Greater China. His background as a quantity surveyor, combined with extensive arbitration and litigation experience, enables him to deliver commercially focused and technically robust advice throughout the project lifecycle.
He frequently represents clients in international commercial arbitration under HKIAC, ICC, SIAC and other leading institutional rules, often involving multi jurisdictional issues and large scale infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He is known for his practical approach, detailed industry knowledge and ability to navigate complex factual and quantum issues arising from major construction works.
He also has substantial experience supporting major Korean contractors on international matters. He advises Korean legal and commercial teams on contract management, claims strategy, dispute resolution mechanisms and risk allocation in cross border construction contexts. In addition, he has developed and delivered tailored training programmes in Seoul, equipping Korean contract management professionals with practical tools to manage complex global construction challenges, strengthen internal governance and enhance project level decision making. His Korea related work complements his broader Asia Pacific practice and reflects his ability to guide clients through multi jurisdictional contractual and procedural issues.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a respected figure in the regional construction disputes community.
