Nicholas Anderson

Nick has a practice covering all aspects of financial and private law children proceedings, including cases with a cross-border element.

He is one of a limited number of barristers who is willing and able to represent clients in both the financial and children aspects of even the most complex case. Nick has been involved in leading cases in the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court and regularly appears in High Court financial and children proceedings. Nick specialises in applications to relocate children (within the UK or abroad) and deals with financial proceedings at all levels, involving cases involving pre-nuptial agreements, third party interests and trusts. Nick is recommended in Chambers & Partners for both children and financial work, regarded as being a ‘fearless and tenacious advocate, with the ability to grasp complex issues’. Solicitors have praised his calming manner with clients. Nick sits as a Recorder in family cases; he is a Recorder in the Financial Remedies Court, authorised to deal with complex financial work, in addition to sitting in private law and public law children’s work. Nick’s experience in sitting in the Financial Remedies Court means that he is often chosen to conduct Private FDR hearings. Nick is a mediator and arbitrator (children proceedings). He accepts instructions on a direct access basis, often following a referral from solicitors.
