Mitra is an accomplished private client litigator with over 15 years of experience, whose passionate and empathetic approach has earned her a strong reputation for client care.

Based in Birmingham, Mitra specialises in contentious probate, inheritance and wills disputes as well as Court of Protection matters. Acting for clients nationally and overseas, Mitra has handled cases as both claimant and defendant. Her two main areas of expertise are Wills & Trusts disputes and Court of Protection disputes, where she has earned a reputation for her strategic thinking and dedication to achieving the best outcomes for her clients.

Mitra is passionate about preventing the financial abuse of vulnerable members of our society, working tirelessly to protect their interests and ensure justice. A successful negotiator, Mitra resolves most of cases before court but she also has experience of taking complex matters to final hearings and achieving significant results, such as the removal and replacement of trustees, attorneys, and deputies who breached their duties.

An advocate for raising awareness about mental capacity issues, Mitra is a trained Dementia Friends Champion, delivering presentations and seminars to promote understanding of financial exploitation and safeguarding vulnerable individuals. She has completed the ACTAPS (Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists) training course and is a member of ConTrA (Contentious Trusts Association) and the STEP Mental Capacity Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

A recognised specialist author, Mitra is the author of “Court of Protection: A Practical Guide to Gifting” and is publishing her second book “Financial Abuse: A Practical Guide to Removing Attorneys and Deputies” in 2026. She has also written numerous articles and delivers training, webinars, and seminars on contentious probate and mental capacity law.
