Mike has advised on some of the highest profile and innovative ECM, M&A transactions and joint ventures in the Middle East, in particular in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He has notable experience in the healthcare, infrastructure, real estate, and telecoms sectors.

Mike joined Cleary Gottlieb as a partner in 2025, having previously spent over 25 years at Clifford Chance in London and Dubai (from 2005), where he was Head of Corporate and ECM from 2015 until the end of 2023.

Mike is a top-ranked and well-respected M&A and ECM lawyer. His track record over the past 20 years includes advising both issuers and underwriters on some of the region’s highest profile and complex IPOs and rights issues, including the first concurrent dual ADX/Tadawul listing and the first listing of a UAE free-zone company on an onshore UAE exchange, as well as some of the largest (multibillion dollar) public and private M&A deals in the region.
