Mr. Colodny focuses in representing national corporations, banking institutions and insurance companies in corporate matters, insurance regulatory and compliance work before government agencies and quasi-judicial public boards and commissions. He has extensive experience in the formation of of insurance operations, the drafting of vendor contract and affiliate financial documentation for insurance carriers and Managing General Agencies. In addition, he has substantial experience in residual markets and their operations.
As former General Counsel for the Florida Residential Property and Casualty Joint Underwriting Association and its successor, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Mr. Colodny was instrumental in negotiating several billion dollars in related catastrophe claims funding. As General Counsel he was involved in drafting the initial Plan of Operations and subsequently the parameters of the residual market entities first Depopulation and Bonus programs.
Mr. Colodny is a former four-year term Mayor for the City of North Miami and the attorney for the President of the Florida Senate.
